Position: Intern – MIS (Female Only Internship Program, Re-advertised)
- Location: Addis Ababa
I. Job Summary
This female-only internship program offers a one-year opportunity for young female graduates to gain professional experience through mentorship, networking, and hands-on projects. The MIS intern will support CARE’s UPLIFT HER project, a seven-year initiative focused on improving gender-responsive health services in Oromia and Afar regions. The intern will assist the M&E officer and technical teams to implement project activities effectively.
II. Responsibilities and Tasks
- Assist with routine data collection and GIS mapping.
- Support capacity-building and training efforts for staff.
- Prepare reports, meeting minutes, and summaries from monitoring visits.
- Compile, clean, and analyze collected data.
- Support in tracking field reports and evaluating project progress against indicators.
- Assist in preparing learning briefs, technical briefs, and documenting best practices.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by the supervisor.

IV. Job Requirements
A) Education
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BSc) in Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology (IT), Data Management, Monitoring & Evaluation, Project Management, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
B) Work Experience
- No prior experience required.
- Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and demonstrate excellent analytical and writing skills.
C) Technical Skills
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, ArcGIS).
- Data management and analysis skills.
- Sensitivity to gender equality and inclusiveness.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a quick learning ability.
D) Competencies
- Courage, accountability, respect, excellence, planning, organization, innovation, and stress tolerance.
E) Travel Requirements
- Based in Dire Dawa, with limited travel to project sites.
