1. Intern – Human Resources

Skill and Educational Background:
- Be enrolled in a first university degree programme in HR/IT/Finance/Management and have completed one full academic year, or
- Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (such as a master’s programme or higher), or
- Have recently graduated with a university degree as defined above, and if selected, must start the internship within one year of graduation, or
- Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional trainee programme and undertake the internship as part of this programme.
Other Eligibility Requirements:
- Demonstrate an interest in the field of Human Resources (HR).
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Ability to adapt to new environments and maintain good working relations with individuals of different cultural backgrounds.
Your Experiences:
- Some experience working with development agencies, including volunteer work.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of other languages is an asset.
- Strong analytical and writing skills.
- Initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to work harmoniously with staff from diverse national and cultural backgrounds.
Learning Elements:
Upon completion of the internship, interns will gain the following:
- Increased understanding of UNFPA and its Operations Division.
- Understanding of UNFPA’s mandate and policies, including regional setup.
- Insights into programme design, delivery mechanisms, and support communications.
- Experience in working with UN procedures and coordination mechanisms.
- Development of networking and teamwork skills in a multicultural setting.
- Experience in writing substantive documents.
Financial Aspects:
- Interns do not receive a salary or remuneration.
- A stipend may be provided to help cover daily expenses, depending on financial support from institutions or programs such as universities, governments, or scholarships.
- Interns are required to have medical insurance during the internship, and proof of insurance must be submitted before starting.
Languages:
- Fluency in English is required.
