United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Vacancy Announcement

UNFPA is inviting qualified and competent applicants to apply for the following position:

Be enrolled in a first university degree programme in HR/IT/Finance/Management and have completed one full academic year, or
Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (such as a master’s programme or higher), or
Have recently graduated with a university degree as defined above, and if selected, must start the internship within one year of graduation, or
Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional trainee programme and undertake the internship as part of this programme.

Demonstrate an interest in the field of Human Resources (HR).
Proficiency in written and spoken English.
Ability to adapt to new environments and maintain good working relations with individuals of different cultural backgrounds.

Some experience working with development agencies, including volunteer work.
Fluency in English; knowledge of other languages is an asset.
Strong analytical and writing skills.
Initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to work harmoniously with staff from diverse national and cultural backgrounds.

Upon completion of the internship, interns will gain the following:

Increased understanding of UNFPA and its Operations Division.
Understanding of UNFPA’s mandate and policies, including regional setup.
Insights into programme design, delivery mechanisms, and support communications.
Experience in working with UN procedures and coordination mechanisms.
Development of networking and teamwork skills in a multicultural setting.
Experience in writing substantive documents.

Interns do not receive a salary or remuneration.
A stipend may be provided to help cover daily expenses, depending on financial support from institutions or programs such as universities, governments, or scholarships.
Interns are required to have medical insurance during the internship, and proof of insurance must be submitted before starting.
