The Addis Ababa Water and Sewerage Authority was established in 1971 G.C. (1963 E.C.) as per Proclamation No. 68/1963. It was restructured in 1995 G.C. (1987 E.C.) with expanded powers to provide essential water and sewerage services in Addis Ababa.
