Buusaa Gonofa Microfinance Institution SC (BG) invites qualified and competent applicants to apply for the following vacant position.

Buusaa Gonofa Microfinance Institution SC is a regulated MFI providing financial services to low-income entrepreneurs, landless young people, and smallholder farmers in Oromia. Established in 1999 by Hundee, a local NGO, BG empowers communities by offering high-quality financial services to encourage sustainable development and reduce urban migration. BG has a vast network of branches and service outlets, serving over 100,000 clients (2018).


Position: Junior Internal Auditor

Job Summary:

The Junior Internal Auditor will support the Internal Audit Section Head and management to ensure a risk management system is in place, identifying and analyzing risks regularly. The role involves reporting major findings, providing recommendations, and monitoring compliance.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in planning, organizing, and executing internal audit functions.
  2. Prepare audit plans in collaboration with the Section Head.
  3. Report findings and make recommendations to improve systems and procedures.
  4. Review and ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and relevance of financial and management information for regional branches.
  5. Collaborate with management to identify and analyze risks in microfinance operations.
  6. Provide opinions on the institution’s internal control systems.
  7. Monitor compliance with client protection principles.
  8. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Manager, Internal Audit Services.

Job Requirements:

  • Educational Qualification:
    • BA Degree in Accounting, Banking & Finance, or related fields.
    • 0 years of experience (fresh graduates).
    • Graduates only from 2016 E.C.
    • Must pass the government exit exam.
  • Technical Skills & Competencies:
    • Proficiency in English, Afaan Oromo, and Amharic (written and verbal).
    • Knowledge of accounting principles, financial records, and computer applications.
    • Ability to work independently with high professional integrity.
    • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.

  • Salary: As per company scale.
  • Physical Demands: Field travel required occasionally.
