Position 1: Project/Grant Accountant

Job Summary:

The Project/Grant Accountant will coordinate and contribute to the implementation of CRS Ethiopia projects by performing financial management, reporting, and compliance tasks. This includes working with donors and partners to ensure adherence to CRS standards, donor regulations, and legal requirements, supporting high-quality programs that serve vulnerable communities.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee financial reporting and compliance for project grants.
  • Provide capacity-building support to subrecipients and partners.
  • Monitor financial transactions, cash flow, and disbursement schedules.
  • Prepare and analyze periodic financial reports.
  • Support internal and external audits and ensure timely implementation of recommendations.
  • Assist in budget development for proposals and amendments.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent. CPA/ACCA certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years (Master’s degree) or 5 years (Bachelor’s degree) in similar roles, preferably in international NGOs.
  • Skills: Knowledge of USAID regulations, ERP systems, and MS Office. Proficiency in English and Amharic is required.
  • Travel: Up to 50%.

Position 2: Program Manager I – Cash

Location: Addis Ababa
Department: JEOP
Reports To: Program Manager II – Cash
Number of Positions: 1
Job Grade: 9
Employment Type: Definite Term (Until March 30, 2027)

Job Summary:

The Program Manager I – Cash will lead cash programming for the Joint Emergency Operation (JEOP), focusing on implementing market-based responses to food and nutrition needs. The role involves designing and monitoring cash transfer programs, supporting market feasibility assessments, and ensuring compliance with donor guidelines and CRS standards.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation of cash assistance activities.
  • Conduct market assessments to inform program design.
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for cash programs.
  • Provide technical guidance to consortium members.
  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for cash transfer activities.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Social Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in cash programming for humanitarian projects.
  • Skills: Proficiency in cash-based programming, digital payment systems, and MEAL practices. Strong analytical and relationship management skills.
  • Travel: Up to 40%, including to remote areas.
