About the College

The Federal Technical and Vocational Education and Training Institute (FTVETI) was established in 2017 by the Council of Ministers Proclamation 245/2017 to produce highly skilled and technically efficient TVET trainers and leaders.

Initially, the college offered degree programs in five occupational sectors: automotive, construction, electronics/electrical, information and communication technology, and manufacturing technology. Later, departments for railways and surveying technology were introduced. These programs include specializations such as Automotive, Building, Road, Water, ICT, Electrical and Control, Electronics and Communications, Manufacturing, Rolling Stock, and Surveying.

Lideta Manufacturing College is part of FTVETI and operates under the Federal Government, contributing to Ethiopia’s technical education.
