Position: Database and IT System Administration Officer II

Job Summary:

The Database Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the institution’s databases, ensuring availability, security, and optimal performance. Key tasks include creating and organizing databases for efficient access, implementing data security, optimizing database performance, and ensuring business continuity through robust database management practices.

Technical Competencies:

Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server and other databases.
Optimize database performance through query optimization, indexing, and design improvements.
Implement security measures to ensure data integrity and privacy.
Manage backups, recovery processes, and perform regular database maintenance.
Diagnose and resolve database-related issues in collaboration with IT staff and developers.
Implement data replication, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions.
Develop in-house applications and stay updated on new database technologies.
Prepare reports on scalability, capacity planning, and conduct regular audits for data integrity.
Ensure compliance with business requirements and develop best practices for performance and efficiency.

Qualification and Skills:

Educational Background:
- BSc in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of practical experience with Oracle Database Server and MS SQL Server, preferably in the banking/financial industry.
