Position: Section Head, IT Risk

Location: Addis Ababa


Job Description

The Section Head, IT Risk, is responsible for supporting the Manager of Operational and Information Technology Risk in managing IT risk procedures. The role involves ensuring risk management oversight, establishing and managing security policy frameworks, and overseeing compliance requirements through strategic development and deployment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and monitor the change management process to ensure compliance and mitigate IT risks.
  • Implement and oversee information technology risk management plans.
  • Assess the accuracy of departmental information and adherence to risk control measures.
  • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations related to information risk and information security.
  • Oversee risk and governance policies and tools related to information security.
  • Conduct information risk assessments to identify and address potential vulnerabilities.
  • Audit compliance with standards and policies, liaising with internal and external auditors.
  • Design risk management programs to reduce information security risks.
  • Monitor information security risk processes and enhance coverage where needed.
  • Lead cyber incident response and improve information risk processes.
  • Collaborate on innovation projects to advise on IT controls and information security requirements.
  • Escalate identified issues related to Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery processes.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements

  • Educational Qualification:
    • Bachelor’s/B.Sc. Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
    • Relevant certification in Risk Management is required.
  • Experience:
    • At least 5 years of relevant experience, with 2 years as a Senior Officer or 1 year as a Principal Officer in a Supervisory role.
