UNICEF Ethiopia is inviting qualified and competent candidates to apply for the following positions. Below are the details of the vacancies, qualifications, experience requirements, and application process:


1. Construction Engineer

Job Requirements:
Education:

  • First university degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Architecture, or related fields.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in construction project monitoring, site supervision, quality assurance, or related technical fields.
  • Experience with reviewing Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) designs and supervising MEP installations is an asset.
  • Understanding of development and humanitarian work.
  • Emergency experience is an advantage.

Language Requirements:

  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Knowledge of another UN official language or local language is an asset.

Desirables:

  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergencies.

2. Administrative Assistant

Job Requirements:
Education:

  • Completion of secondary education (preferably supplemented by technical or university courses).
  • A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s) in a related field will be considered in lieu of 2 years of work experience.
  • An advanced university degree (Master’s) in a related field with no experience will also be considered.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant administrative or clerical work experience.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of integrated management information systems.
  • Ability to deal patiently and tactfully with visitors.
  • High sense of confidentiality, initiative, and good judgment.

Language Requirements:

  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Knowledge of another UN official language (French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian) or local languages (Oromiffa, Amharic) is an asset.

Desirables:

  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergencies.
