About the Role
The Officer II, Grant Finance will handle financial transactions for grants, ensuring compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards, Ethiopian regulations, ChildFund policies, and donor requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
- Promote strong child safeguarding practices in line with organizational policies.
- Implement financial systems to anticipate risks and ensure compliance with donor requirements.
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of project-funded fixed assets.
- Conduct training to build financial capacity for staff and partners.
- Prepare audit documents and maintain finance records securely.
- Support budget holders to ensure donor compliance and prepare financial projections and reports.
- Conduct quarterly monitoring visits to partners and field offices.
- Maintain cash flow to cover project activities and prepare monthly cash forecasts.
- Track program budgets, expenditures, and cost-sharing requirements.
- Provide monthly, quarterly, and mid-year financial performance reports.
- Ensure compliance with donor regulations and support program closeouts.
Required Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis, preferably in the NGO sector.
Technical Competencies:
- Knowledge of GAAP, IAS, internal controls, and Ethiopian banking regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting and financial software.
- Effective written and oral communication skills in English; fluency in a local language is a plus.
