Position 1: Accountant
Job Purpose
To maintain proper books of accounts, prepare financial statements and activity reports, process transactions, perform reconciliations, and ensure compliance with EPHA’s financial policies and international accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and process accounting transactions.
- Prepare payment vouchers, journal entries, and financial statements.
- Reconcile bank statements with books of accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure timely and accurate payments, supported by appropriate documentation.
- Assist in financial audits and provide required documentation.
- File financial documents systematically and assist in executing the annual plan and budget.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Education:
- MA/MBA/ACCA in Accounting, Finance, or Business with 2 years of relevant experience OR
- BA/BSc in Accounting, Accounting & Finance, or related fields with 3–4 years of relevant experience.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting software (Peachtree, QuickBooks).
- Knowledge of IPSAS.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and confidentiality.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Position 2: Cashier
Job Purpose
To manage petty cash, ensure authorized payment instructions, issue receipts, reconcile petty cash records, and handle cash transactions responsibly.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive cash/cheques and issue pre-numbered Cash Receipt Vouchers.
- Deposit collected funds and submit receipts to accounts.
- Maintain petty cash registers and process payments per signed payment orders.
- Follow up on and clear advances taken by staff.
- Reconcile cash balances with records and prepare replenishment reports.
- Maintain organized records of all cash transactions.
Qualifications
- Education:
- BA/BSc in Accounting, Banking & Finance, or related fields with up to 1 year of experience OR
- TVET Level IV in Accounting, Banking & Insurance with 7+ years of experience.
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and proficiency in petty cash management.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain accurate records.
- Familiarity with EPHA’s financial policies and procedures.
